Bloody Valentines: How to deal with heartbreak from your favorite horror movies

Bloody Valentines: How to deal with heartbreak from your favorite horror movies

Sometimes, love stinks. We’ve all had moments in our lives where every hint of love or Valentine’s Day spirit makes us want to swing a pickaxe at all those lucky enough to be in love.

But before you decide to don a miner’s outfit and totally harsh the vibe at a small town Valentine’s Day dance, take a step back and think about some of the great advice our favorite horror movies have to offer about handling heartbreak.

  • Spend time with your family.

Like Norman Bates always says: “A boy’s best friend is his mother.”

  • Treat yourself to a good meal.

Having “friends for dinner” is always a great idea!

  • Get some exercise.

Go outside, reconnect with nature! Absolutely nothing can go wrong out there.

  • Go shopping.

Treat yourself with a trip to the mall for discounts you’ll certainly die for!

  • Pick up an old hobby.

Might we suggest reading? I hope you know Latin!

  • Find someone new.

Even if you have a type, you’d be surprised how many of them will cross “oceans of time to find you.” What’s more romantic than that?

If these nuggets of advice don’t seem to do the trick, then take heart in knowing that horror movies will always be there for you and you can get all the love you deserve from your friends and fellow horror fans in the Hack or Slash community.

Happy Valentine’s Day, Hack or Slashers!
